This show was held during the month of June 2016. We had 51 artists participating. The focus of the show was Acadia National Park’s Centennial Celebration. All art was made to remind viewers of Acadia and all of it’s various locations on MDI and the Schoodic Penninsula. The works consisted of oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, fiber arts as in felting, silk resist, pieced & painted fabric collage, wooden sculpture, ceramic sculpture and jewelry. The work was beautiful and the best part of the show was all of the visitors and artists that were involved. I had so many wonderful interactions and we all received fabulous compliments on the work and the quality of the show. When we closed our show a new group came to Hammond Hall and hung their works. Now another show will focus on Acadia-the Rug Hookers have produced some beautilful and unique hooked rugs featuring scenes from the Park. The year ahead is full of opportunities to celebrate the National Park System and for us all to support and celebrate our local park, Acadia. Thank you one and all.
